Meet Figlia
Meet Figlia
Figlia was born out of a desire to have more honest and inclusive conversations around alcohol consumption. The inspiration for creating Figlia is one that is very personal. For most of my young life, I watched my father battle with alcoholism and at the age of 20, I lost him to the disease. Alcoholism comes in many shapes and sizes and may be closer to you than you realize.
Everyone has a different relationship with drinking. I, myself, enjoy a glass of wine from time to time, but as I’ve gotten older I’ve found that it doesn’t make me feel that good anymore. In fact, I find that I like not drinking even better. But not drinking is still seen as different. Non-drinkers are still seen as outsiders. Non-alcoholic beverages are, more often than not, left on the back page of the menu.
So, I decided to create Figlia. For those who are going zero proof, for whatever reason.
To create an active community and a place for fun. The type of dinner table that always has an open seat for all experiences and stories. Where no one is an outsider and there is something special to sip for all. All natural ingredients, no added sugars, no preservatives, no pressure. Grab a seat.

3 oz Figlia
1.5 oz water
1 cinnamon stick
1 dash almond extract
1 dash cardamom
In a pot, add 3 oz Figlia and 1.5 oz water
Bring mixture to a simmer for 5 minutes and keep stirring
Once mixture is hot, add in a dash of almond extract and cardamom
Pour into heat-safe glass and garnish with a cinnamon stick

Sparkling water

Fill a glass with ice
Add 1.5 oz Figlia and 1.5 oz Ginger beer
Give mixture a stir and top with sparkling water
Add squeeze of fresh grapefruit juice amounting to .5 oz
Garnish with slice of grapefruit

Create maraschino cherry syrup by mixing 1 part Luxardo Maraschino Cherry juice from the jar with 1 part warm water, stir to combine.
Add syrup, lime juice, rose water, pineapple juice and Figlia to a cocktail shaker.
Shake with ice and then strain into a rocks glass with fresh ice.
Garnish with a lime and a Luxardo Cherry. Maraschino cherry syrup can be refrigerated for up to one week.

Stir to combine, steep for 10 minutes and then strain.
Stir Figlia, syrup, and balsamic vinegar in a cocktail shaker.
Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice. Garnish with lemon and rosemary. Cinnamon honey syrup can be refrigerated for up to one week.
